About Yora

Yora started with three people, too much screen time, and a sound we couldn’t stop listening to.

We’re Jon, Kevin, and Ellie, three longtime friends who’ve worked in tech, based in the Portland-Vancouver area.

Eventually, we got tired.

Tired of deadlines, notifications, endless scrolling, too many open tabs, and a world that always seems to be asking for our attention.

Ellie discovered a wind chime made from dried seed pods.

What stayed with us wasn’t just how it looked. It was the sound: soft, natural, imperfect, and strangely calming.

For a moment, everything felt a little quieter.

We kept listening.

That feeling became Yora.

Today, we’re a handmade studio exploring sound, natural materials, and objects that invite you to slow down.

Ellie obsesses over the details.

Jon worries about whether anyone will actually buy it.

Kevin saves the world and keeps the peace.

Somehow, Yora lives somewhere in the middle.

We don’t believe rest should become another thing you have to be good at.

You don’t need the perfect morning, a meditation routine, or another app telling you how to relax.

Sometimes, you just need a moment.

A soft rattle. A wooden knock. Seed pods moving in the wind.

Something simple enough to remind you that not everything needs your attention right now.

We started with seed pod wind chimes, but Yora is really about something bigger:

creating small moments of quiet in a very loud world.

Made near the Columbia River, where the water keeps moving, the hills hold the clouds, and the wind carries its own small sounds.
